Sea wall and houses
A terrace of 'marina houses' atop a significant sea wall of unusual construction. Undoubtedly, the selling-point is a spectacular sea view down the Afon Menai, though the stony shore is interesting for its extraordinary abundance of flint pebbles. A tempting origin lies in the carrying of ballast on boats inbound to load slates from the harbour.

Hotel Port Dinorwic
Situated to the north of the Marina, part of the Hotel Port Dinorwic was built during the enlargement of the dock, to house the dock manager and dock offices.

Rock outcrop
Vigorous, but only partially-successful attempts have been made to remove rock outcrop intruding into space earmarked for development. The rock appears to be very white from a distance, but on closer inspection is a brecciated chalky-white rock with brownish, crystalline layers and lenses. Given that the rock here is limestone of Carboniferous age, it appears that this a patch of chert within dolomitised limestone. Further analysis will be conducted back in the laboratory.
