A terrace of 'marina houses' atop a significant sea wall of unusual construction. Undoubtedly, the selling-point is a spectacular sea view down the Afon Menai, though the stony shore is interesting for its extraordinary abundance of flint pebbles. A tempting origin lies in the carrying of ballast on boats inbound to load slates from the harbour.
