Old wartime building at Uwchmynydd on Lleyn
I assume it survives from the old World War II era RAF camp below Mynydd Mawr lookout. One of many at that time for around 60 or 70 personnel.

Buildings beside the lane near Uwchmynydd
These buildings may well have their origins in World War II vintage huts associated with the military use of the area. A radar station was sited on Mynydd Mawr and maybe the camp was established a little way inland down here.

View eastwards towards the hamlet of Uwchmynydd
Before the recent inward movement of people from across the Border, the inhabitants of Uwchmynydd and surrounding areas were almost all native Welsh speakers and as late as the 1960s it was not unusual to find adults who were monoglot Welsh speakers and even today there are still many who are much more comfortable conversing in Welsh.
