Row of terraced house at Glanypwll
Situated near to the slate mines, these cottages must surely have been built to accommodate their workforce. This shot was taken from the train on its way back to Porthmadog

View From Blaenau Ffestiniog Railway Station, Gwynedd
From the western end of the platform, the narrow and standard gauge tracks can be seen. However, the scene is dominated by the "slate" mountains, which brought the railways here in the 19th century. The wall of rock, in the centre of picture, is Craig Nyth-y-gigifran, whilst the distant peak is Moel-yr-hydd.

Footbridge over the Ffestiniog Railway track
A very solidly constructed bridge with what looks to be a fairly new steel span. It was no doubt used by the inhabitants of the miner's cottages in Glan Y Pwll Road when going to work at the Glodffa Ganol Slate Mine

Glanypwll Junction
The site of Glanypwll junction with the original FR line to Dinas heading to the left and the since restored route into Blaenau Ffestiniog following the line of the buildings around to the right. The temporary trackwork and permanent way materials are evidence that relaying of the line towards Tanygrisiau has commenced.
