Dolgellau railway station (site), Gwynedd
Opened in 1868 by the Bala & Dolgelly Railway, soon to become part of the Great Western Railway, this station closed in 1965 and the line was lifted.
View east towards Dolserau Halt and Bala. The station site has been cleared and the trackbed is now lost under the A470 by-pass. The railway line also continued behind the camera position through to Penmaenpool and Barmouth.

Afon Wnion at the bridge at Dolgellau.
This is the view east along the river, looking almost straight along the east-west grid line, which at this point runs along the river. The river bank on the left is in SH7218 and the bank on the right is in SH7217.
