Dolgellau railway station (site), Gwynedd
Opened in 1868 by the Bala & Dolgelly Railway, soon to become part of the Great Western Railway, this station closed in 1965 and the line was lifted.
View east towards Dolserau Halt and Bala. The station site has been cleared and the trackbed is now lost under the A470 by-pass. The railway line also continued behind the camera position through to Penmaenpool and Barmouth.

The bridge over Afon Wnion
This bridge links the two areas of Dolgellau over the Afon Wnion and the A470 Dolgellau by-pass.

Y Bont Fawr, Dolgellau
The Big Bridge over the Afon Wnion dates from 1638 and has been widened and altered on a number of occasions. The bridge was substantially remodelled in the 1870s to accommodate the construction of the railway line at the north end. This is now the line of the town's bypass and is crossed by a concrete span.
