A penny for his thoughts
A rather disgruntled looking Llywelyn ab Iorwerth must be thinking: 'I wish the birds wouldn't spend a penny all over me.'
Llewelyn founded Conwy Abbey in 1184. The statue was erected in 1898, the figure sculpted by E O Griffith of Liverpool. The figure is bronze, but has clearly been painted since at least the 1980s when the statue was Listed, Grade II.
