Derelict outbuildings Glan Conwy
Derelict outbuildings of the pub, The Estuary, and the site of the former public loos demolished a few years ago. Since submitting I have been informed by a correspondent that the buildings were ''originally the Cycle shop run by a Mr Davies. Bicycle was the main means of transport for the Hotpoint workers living in the village.'' Hotpoint were until a few years ago a major employer in the area. I have since been told it was where Welsh Lovespoons were made. Thank you to those who contributed this added information.

Rheilffordd Dyffryn Conwy (4)
A double headed steam special (Conwy Quest) organised to celebrate the reopening of the Conwy Valley line following the extensive flood damage to the track in March. It also coincides with the Eisteddfod in Llanrwst. The leading locomotive is a 2-8-0 Black Stanier 8F number 48151, built in Crewe in 1942 and withdrawn from BR service in January 1968. The second locomotive was a 4-6-0 Stanier Jubilee class number 45690 - Leander built in Crewe in March 1936 and withdrawn from BR service in 1964.

Track side detail at Glan Conwy
Taken from the permitted limit of the only platform. Two interesting points for me. Firstly the yellow sign erected by Network Rail about entering a legally protected environmental site. For more detail see Image Secondly the yucca bush towards the top left of centre. This is possibly the same bush or its successor that appears in the very first image submitted to this square in 2005, Image] see bottom right. The rock outcrop is immediately to the right off screen.
