Church Street, Glan Conwy, October 2021
We are left with one shop - the Caffi Llan which opens as well for newspapers, bread and dairy products Monday - Saturday mornings.
There is a hairdressers at the end of the street on the left. A takeaway on the right. On the A470 ahead and to the right is the Cross Keys pub and a Post Office which opens for just a couple of hours a week.
In the distance is a new development of residential properties on the site of the Conwy Vale pub. Some feel the sight of the river etc has been lost, which is true to an extent. Interestingly the new properties are virtually the same height of the former pub.

Church Street remains closed
Urgent works are required to renew the gas main through the village. This has now been on and off going for weeks. The advantage is being taken of the school being closed as this, Church Street, is the main access road to the school premises.
Total chaos for the residents - bus and car diversions along narrow lanes.
Due to the age of the pipework it's become necessary to reconnect with new pipework all of the properties in this stretch.
Time is tight as the school reopens 2 September with a teacher's training day. School fully opens the following day.

Fire in Glan Conwy (1)
An early morning incident. It appears an electrical fault may have caused the fire which took the fire service four hours to contain. A substantial amount of damage has been caused within the building.

The orange type of blanket was used to store and protect the breathing apparatus which was needed to enter the partly smoke filled parts of the building. A substantial amount of internal damage has been caused.
Luckily there were no injuries.
