Urgent works are required to renew the gas main through the village. This has now been on and off going for weeks. The advantage is being taken of the school being closed as this, Church Street, is the main access road to the school premises. Total chaos for the residents - bus and car diversions along narrow lanes. Due to the age of the pipework it's become necessary to reconnect with new pipework all of the properties in this stretch. Time is tight as the school reopens 2 September with a teacher's training day. School fully opens the following day.
