Old Milestone north of the Crimea Pass/Bwlch y Gorddinan, Dolwyddelan
Carved slate milestone built into the north west railway bridge parapet north of the Crimea Pass/Bwlch y Gorddinan alongside the A470. Caernarvon chamfered slate, probably late C19th and erected by the County Council. It also has a number of graffiti initials, presumably from passers by.
Inscription reads:-

Caernarvon chamfered slate by the A470, in parish of Dolwyddelan (Conwy County Borough District), Bwlch y Gorddinan on climb to Crimea Pass, built into bridge parapet.

Carreg Filltir / Milestone
Note that the milestone references (Llan) Ffestiniog, yet omits the larger and closer settlement of Blaenau Ffestiniog. Perhaps it pre-dates the rapid growth of the latter in the nineteenth century.
