Capel Bethania, Penmachno
According to Hanes Wesleyaeth Gymreig by Rev. Hugh Jones, the first Wesleyan to visit Penmachno was Ellis Owen of Llansannan in 1806. He was followed by William Jones of Llanelidan and then Richard Jones of Trawsfynydd. A chapel was soon built and opened in 1808. It was sufficient for a few years, but had to be extended, and eventually a new chapel was built in the 1867.
It is however no longer used (2011) as a chapel.

Capel Bethania (Bethania Wesleyan Chapel)
Capel Bethania (Bethania Wesleyan Chapel) was built in 1867 replacing Capel Seion which was located across the road. It was modified in 1871 by the architect Richard Owen of Liverpool. It is built in the Classical style of the gable entry type. The façade is built of dark local stone with pale, freestone, dressings, the three bays accentuated by full height Corinthian columns and pilasters and topped by an entablature, with dentil cornice, supporting ball finials to the ends and a small, stepped, central pediment containing a name stone with "BETHANIA" http://www.coflein.gov.uk/en/site/7080/details/BETHANIA+WESLEYAN+METHODIST+CHAPEL%2C+WHITE+STREET%2C+PENMACHNO%3BWESLEYAN%3BPENMACHNO/
Services were last held in 2002. The property was sold at auction in 2014.

Three benches and a bus shelter
Situated on the site of the former White Lion pub in Penmachno. St Tudcluds church is in the background.
The newest (brightest) of the benches was given by the family and friends of Lance Corporal Robert Martin Richards ('Rambo' to his friends) a Royal Marine who died on 27 May 2009 of injuries sustained in Central Helmand, Afghanistan. 'Rambo', a local, played for the local football team - Machno United.
