Ffynnon Beuno, Bala
The site of St Beuno's Well, at Mawnog Bach, Bala. The well which at one time provided pure water was later filled in with builders rubble when the estate was built. However, it was later cleared of rubble and filled with chippings which would be easy to remove later if needed.

New housing estate in Stryd y Fron
For many years the only houses in the section of Stryd y From shown in this photo were the two houses on the right. Since the 1990s most of the land between these houses and the A494, on both sides of Stryd y Fron, has been occupied by new housing estates.

Ffynnon Beuno Holy Well on the Mawnog Bach estate
This is one of the ancient wells of Wales. It attracted pilgrims throughout the centuries and in the 19th century the Rhiwlas estate marketed the water labelling the bottles as containing water 'from the well known kidney pacifying rock spring near Bala'. Later the well became infilled with builders' rubbish and it was only in 2005 that it was restored by the Cantref Heritage organisation.
