Church of St Mary Magdalene, Cerrigydrudion
The church of St Mary Magdalen lies at the heart of the small village of Cerrigydrudion, some nine miles to the north-west of Corwen. There may have been a church here as early as 400 AD, but the present building dates some from the 16th century but mostly 18th century.

Almshouses, Cerrigydrudion
Built in the centre of Cerrigydrudion, across the town square from the church. They were built in 1717 by Robert Price, the son of a local family, who made his fortune as a judge. The almshouses had six rooms, each with an open fire, a curtained sleeping area, a long garden and a privy at the end of it. Over the centuries there have been amendments and extensions and now there are three houses for local villagers.

Want to buy the White Lion Hotel?
Or Gwesty Llew Gwyn. There was no lunch for me today - the hotel (the last remaining watering hole in Cerrigydrudion) had closed. No doubt in the days when the A5 went through the village this was a bustling place. But the village has been bypassed for over 30 years, and the A5 itself is much less busy as most north Wales traffic uses the A55. So these changes, though sad, are inevitable.

HSBC Bank, Cerrigydrudion
This week HSBC announced job losses and the closure of a number of branches throughout the country, I wonder if this branch in Cerrigydrudion will be a victim.
