The Horse and Jockey, Wrexham
The Horse and Jockey pub is one of the oldest buildings in Wrexham town centre, possibly built in the 16th century as a hall house. The pub was named the Horse and Jockey in honour of Fred Archer (1857-1886), the Cheltenham-born jockey who rode at nearby Bangor-on-Dee.
The white lights on the end of the building are from the low sun reflecting off a shop window opposite.

The Horse and Jockey
The Horse and Jockey public house remains largely unchanged since I attended technical college in Wrexham during the early 70's. It will shortly be overshadowed by a large retail development, the structure of which can be seen in the background.

A thatched roof establishment in the midst of some old but also many new buildings.
The threat of the large retail development seen by Phil Williams in his 2006 image Image] wasn't that imposing IMHO, unlike the Queens Meadow shopping complex nearby.
