The Horse and Jockey pub is one of the oldest buildings in Wrexham town centre, possibly built in the 16th century as a hall house. The pub was named the Horse and Jockey in honour of Fred Archer (1857-1886), the Cheltenham-born jockey who rode at nearby Bangor-on-Dee. The white lights on the end of the building are from the low sun reflecting off a shop window opposite. *Source: historypoints.org
