Belliss & Morcom Enclosed Steam Engine
Belliss & Morcom inverted vertical compound (enclosed) engine, No. 7873 of 1928. This developed 150 brake horsepower at 500 rpm and is direct coupled to an alternator. Snibston Discovery Museum - Brush diesel engine
Brush of Loughborough was a major engineering firm with interests including railway traction, steam turbines, electrical equipment and diesel engines, amongst others. The firm is still in business and specialises in electrical equipment. This is a two cylinder horizontally opposed diesel engine to the company's design.

Powlesland and Mason No.6
A rare early contractors locomotive. Built by Brush in 1903/06 and sold by the GWR in 1929 to a private operator for further service. It is on public display, but not operational, at the Snibston Discovery Park near Coalville wearing No. 921.
