Snibston Colliery
The tandem headgear is surrounded by scaffolding for extensive maintenance. I remember inspecting this from a large hydraulic platform in the late 1980s. The structure was severely corroded as little maintenance had been carried out since closure.

Now part of the Snibston Discovery Museum that is due to close at the end of July 2015. This was a pit operated by George Stephenson and this tandem headstock is on the upcast shaft and a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
