Opened by the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Ltd ("Midland Red") in 1925 and closed by Arriva Midlands in 2011, this sign shows the opening date, along with the abbreviated fleetname carried by the company's buses at the time the garage was opened.

Former Midland Red Bus Garage, Coalville (1)
Situated in Ashby Road LE67 3LF, this bus garage was opened on the 6th December 1925 and extended in 1930 and 1938. During the mid-1960s, 59 vehicles were based at this garage, this number being increased to 73 when Markfield Garage nearby closed at the end of June 1968. Closure for this garage took place on the 26th March 2011 and a "For Sale" notice can be seen in the photo, which means that it is likely to be redeveloped once sold.

Former Midland Red Bus Garage, Coalville (2)
This photo, taken in Ashby Road, shows the extension to this garage which took place during the 1930s enabling it to hold 75 vehicles. By the time this Garage closed in March 2011, this was down to 33, both single (17) and double deck (16) vehicles. With this Garage now for sale, the writing would appear to be on the wall for this site.

Former bus garage, Ashby Road, Coalville
Opened by the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Ltd ("Midland Red") in 1925 and closed by Arriva Midlands in 2011, the garage appears to have had its windows replaced and its shutters repainted since 2014 - see Image - and therefore appears to be under new (if anonymous) ownership.
