Edward VIII postbox on Central Road, Hugglescote
Postbox No. LE67 297 outside the former Post Office.
Because Edward VIII was king for only 326 days, postboxes bearing his cypher are thin on the ground, there being only around 150 survivors in the whole of the UK.

The Hugglescote Bear
This sculpture was unveiled in November 2008, it is made from Bath Limestone, and stands on the corner of Central Road and Fairfield Road.
The sculpture is about how the village of Hugglescote got its name. According to folklore, many years ago when Brown Bears were in England, a man named Huggle was being chased by a bear. He took off his coat to run faster, and the bear hugged that instead of him.

Milestone, Hugglescote
Carved stone post with missing attachment by the UC road, in parish of Coalville (North West Leicestershire District), by No. 149 Ashburton Road, Hugglescote, in middle of drive entrance, on East North-east side of road. Ashby slate tombstone erected by the Ashby de la Zouch Turnpike Trust in the 18th century. The inscription once showed mileages to Leicester, 12, and Ashby, 5. Not listed by Historic England. Donington le Heath Manor
A view of the manor house which dates to 1280 or so. Originally another house dating to 1200 was on the site.

The Old Manor House
The ancient manor house at Donington-le-Heath was derelict for many years in the 1950's and 60's, and was almost lost to posterity. Now owned by the County Council, it is a worthy museum to our ancient heritage and stages many events annually.
