Worthington: the post office
Looking across St. Matthew's Avenue, a road comprising mainly council estate-type housing. The village store and post office appears to have been converted from the lower two thirds of one semi-detached pair.

Worthington: the Round House
This curious little building, on the corner of St. Matthew's Avenue, is a former lock-up. The notice on the door explains that until the county constabulary was instituted in 1839, the parish policeman's duties included the apprehension of suspect criminals. He would lock them up here until he could bring them to court. The building is thought to date from the late eighteenth century.
