Spinney Hill Park, Leicester
Created in 1885 when the City Corporation, worried about a
lack of public open space in this area of Leicester, bought the Spinney Hill
Estate for £18,000. It consists of 34 acres of sloping parkland with walks under shady tree avenues, playgrounds and ball courts.
