Former Arcadia Electric Theatre, High Street, Leicester
Dating from 1910, the work of Ward & Bell, and Leicester's first cinema. An unspoilt facade with the lettering, "Electric Theatre" carved under the gable.
Behind it appeared to have been converted into retail space.

A Bus in Leicester City Centre (1)
This photo, taken in May 1969, shows 114 (PBC 114G) a Leyland Atlantean bus with Park Royal 74-seater bodywork, in High Street on route 28 to Clarendon Park. It had recently entered service with Leicester City Transport and is fitted with an illuminated advertisement panel between the upper and lower decks. Several bus operators during the 1960s had vehicles fitted with these external panels, but they had limited support from advertisers wishing their panels to be seen at night as well as during the day. High Street is now a pedestrian zone, and vehicles are only admitted for loading and unloading during certain hours of the day.
