The Great Paul bell case, Loughborough
This is the outer casing within which was cast the largest ringing bell ever cast in Britain. This is Great Paul, which still hangs in St Paul's Cathedral, London and is rung every day at 13:00. This is one of 12 bells cast for the cathedral by John Taylor of Loughborough. It was cast on 23 November 1881 and weighs 17 tons. It rings in E flat. Many smaller casings can be seen on a tour of the foundry. The building beyond is Charnwood Museum.
