Herd of Jacob Sheep near Low Yews
This is the most we have ever seen in one herd. Fortunately for Ali (heading swiftly towards the gate) they seemed quite friendly.

Carved block by the A5704 west of Crosthwaite
The inscriptions seem to read 'Townend' and 'Division'. It doesn't sit on a current parish boundary. A quick search on the internet found http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/a2a/records.aspx?cat=024-wpr3&cid=1-4-3#1-4-3 which is a will written in 1726 gifting '5s. p.a. to inhabitants of Town End division towards repair of highways'
