Old guidestone
In the farmyard of Manor House is another of the four disused guidestones from Ingleton village given to the farmer over a 100 years ago. Although a large piece was broken off a long time ago there may be an inscription of the narrow, non-moss covered face. However it is impossible to make out what name or names may have been inscribed. Of the four stones given to the farmer as well as the two used as gateposts, one has been lost and another broken.

A farm not very far from Ingleton. The effect of the sun breaking through the clouds was challenging photographically.

Looking north along Oddies Lane with the guidestone/gatepost on the right. A lovely moorland road with the River Doe in the valley reaching the B6255 at Chapel-le-Dale.

Old guidestone
The front face in this photograph may have To/Kirby/or/Hornby inscribed. The right face may have TO/(Ingle)ton. It is believed there is also something on the face next to the stone wall but impossible to read due to its closeness to the wall stones. There is also a deep incised cross on the top, across the corners.

Old guidestone
This gatepost opposite the entrance to Manor House farm on Oddies Lane was once in Ingleton village. The original line of the Keighley to Kendal tollroad went through Ingleton where there was a tollhouse, long demolished, and at least 4 guidestones. When the tollhouse was demolished the stones were given to a local farmer, the great grandad of the current farmer. This one has inscriptions on all 4 faces although mostly difficult to make out the names.
