Old Milestone by the B5284, south of Bowness on Windermere
Carved stone post by the B5284, in parish of STRICKLAND KETEL (SOUTH LAKELAND District), just East of the A5074 junction, North side of road, nearly opposite entrance to small group of properties, in thick undergrowth. Kendal Lakeside stone, erected by the Ambleside turnpike trust in the 19th century.

Windswept hawthorn, Brant Fell
This evening the tree was being swept by a strong westerly that seemed intent on stripping its new leaves. Looking towards Red Screes and the fells above Troutbeck.
