Carved stone post by the B5284, in parish of STRICKLAND KETEL (SOUTH LAKELAND District), just East of the A5074 junction, North side of road, nearly opposite entrance to small group of properties, in thick undergrowth. Kendal Lakeside stone, erected by the Ambleside turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription once read:- : KENDAL / 8 MILES : : BOWNESS / ¾ MILE : Milestone Society National ID: WE_KDBW08
