Grumpy climbs the hill ? 1978
In July 1978 Lancaster City Transport celebrated its 75th anniversary with a parade of buses based on the Hornsea Pottery site. It used some of its open-top buses – normally used on the Morecambe sea front – to provide a special service between the pottery site and the city centre. The open-top buses were all named after the dwarves from Snow White. 'Grumpy' is a Leyland PD2 with East Lancs bodywork which was new in 1963 and converted to open-top in 1977. It is seen here climbing Wyresdale Road to its junction with Coulston Road. This is one of a series of views featuring buses in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=137652761
