Stile and signpost
Near the Low Bank Side road end beside the C5041 road from Cark to Cartmel, a substantial limestone built stile is provided for the public footpath to Templand. There is an Ordnance Survey rivet benchmark on the stile adjacent to the road (detail photograph Image).

Benchmark, Low Bank Side Road End
Detail of the Ordnance Survey rivet benchmark on the step of a stone step stile adjacent to the C5041 road near Low Bank Side road end. The benchmark marks a height of 17.092m above mean sea level (Ordnance Datum Newlyn) last verified in 1971 (location photograph Image). The top of the rivet has become polished by the feet of people using the stile which is on the public footpath to Templand.
