Aberdour Castle courtyard

Aberdour Castle
Dating from the 12 th century and standing near the shore of the Firth of Forth. This is one of the two oldest standing castles in Scotland. The other is Castle Sween in Argyll.

Sundial at Aberdour Castle
On the southwest corner of the east range of the castle. reading 1230 on the first day of BST, so spot on at 1130! With the initials WM and ACM, referring to William, Earl of Morton and Anne, Countess of Morton, it dates from 1635.
