Access bridge to Carron Harbour
Carron Harbour was a small 19th century boat repair centre, grade B listed. As this bridge over the railway is in a dangerous condition, it is not clear what, if any, access to Carron Harbour is still available.

Moss-covered waterfall
This waterfall is an unusual sight. The rocks are covered in moss and tufa. It looks like mud, but actually it is precipitated calcium carbonate.

Non-compliant sign and gate, Starleyburn
The locked and fortified bridge over the railway seals off a large area of beach and should no longer exist. The harbour and buildings, no doubt used to justify this illegal gate are actually some distance away. A bit of a trap for folk traversing the beach as this is the only way over the railway.
