Blue plaque on the church door
The plaque is on one of the doors of Cupar Parish Church. It reads: PARISH CHURCH The original church was built in 1415 - the tower still remains. The spire was added in 1620 some years after the Parish Church united with St. Michael of Tarvit. The body of the church was rebuilt in 1785.

The Parish Church of Cupar Old and St Michael of Tarvit. The church dates from 1785 and replaced the original church, built in 1415. The tower and a small part of the nave of the original church were retained. The tower is Category A listed http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB24136 and the church is Category B listed http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB24137.

Tower, Cupar Parish Church
Looking down Kirkgate towards the tower of Cupar Parish Church. This dates from 1415 (the spire was added in 1620) and is the oldest structure in Cupar. It is Category A listed http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB24136. The church itself was replaced by a larger building in 1785, but the tower was retained.
