Gravestone in cemetery at East Wemyss
This gravestone in the extreme NW corner was designed by the celebrated architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh,(1868-1928). Whilst it does not personally appeal the book,'The Buildings of Fife', waxes lyrical,"Designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh,c.1905 & executed by McGilvray- A flattened cross of Dullatur sandstone enclosing an elongated oval, its top carved with a dove floating above the inscription panel,its copper panel plate a replacement of c.1950."

Court Cave
Cave at East Wemyss which contains Pictish carvings and which was put to many uses over the course of history including as a medieval court and as an illegal gambling den for miners. The notices give warning of hazards to visitors, and of scheduled monument status.

Steps from the shore
The Fife Coastal Path has a few ups and downs along its length. This is one of the ups for east-bound walkers, near the ruins of Macduff's Castle and above the East Wemyss caves with their Pictish drawings.
