Looking pretty immaculate considering it's been uninhabited throughout the winter.

Not in a million years.....
..... will you guess what this is: unless you've had barrels of wax washed up on your doorstep, then put the wax in a corner and over the years it's all melted and gone gunky and fossilisedesque. The Tate Modern would probably pay a seven-figure sum for this, if it wasn't so beautiful.

North Taing
Simon's first visit since he vacated his house last October and overwintered in Kirkwall (no doubt tempted there by the bright lights, city sights and sultry women). The mast in the centre holds a wind turbine which charges a bank of batteries.

North Taing, Auskerry
This is the only house on Auskerry. The island in the background is Stronsay, 3 miles away.

Turbine tower, North Taing, Auskerry
The turbine charges a bank of batteries and I think the tower also provides a home for the header tank. Fantastic isn't it?
