At the corner of Maple Road and looking south along the busy Brighton Road, one of Surbiton's shopping streets. The old fashioned lamp posts and the gables give Brighton Road some character.

The Victoria, Surbiton
Together with the Black Lion just round the corner, the keen following of the two pubs will be tasting their last pints of real Youngs' beers as the last mash had just been produced at the brewery in Wandsworth shortly before this picture was taken. A terrible tragedy after centuries of brewing in south London.
