New Malden station
New Malden station was opened by the London & South Western Railway in December 1846, and was originally named Malden. It has been renamed several times: in May 1859 it became New Malden and Coombe; on 1 March 1862 Coombe and Malden; in November 1912 Malden for Coombe; in 1955 Malden; and finally, in September 1957, it took the present name of New Malden. This view looks from Platform 1 across Platforms 2 and 3 on the fast lines which are no longer used to Platform 4 on the far side where a down slow train is stopped.

CI Tower, High Street
An example of suburban London's boom in office space in the 1960s. Like the block over the road (Image]), this dates from 1963-68 and was designed by Planning & Development Limited. It has a reinforced concrete frame. A small police station occupied part of the ground floor.
