Houses on Rookwood Avenue
This dead end road consists of 1940's terraced houses. These houses back onto a very large B&Q DIY store and it dominates their rear gardens.

These terraced houses are on the east side of Rookwood Avenue a short residential cul-de-sac of the B282 Burlington Rd. The similar houses on the other side of the road back on to the small stream known as Beverley Brook.

118 Burlington Road
Tidy, characteristic brick office block of the 1950s or perhaps early 1960s.
At the time it was occupied by Northrop Grumman, an American company specialising in "global security". An expression that nowadays in particular seems to come with sinister overtones. As a boy gripped by a craze for Airfix models I'm sure I put together a Grumman aircraft or two.

Shannon Corner
Junction of the A3 with the B282. The A3 carried on the flyover changes name from Malden Way to Beverley Way at this junction. The B282 is Burlington Road. This view was taken from the top deck of a Routemaster bus.
