Warren Close, Coombe Hill Road
Formerly gate lodge now Grade II listed House. Warren Close and Gable Cottage (on the far left) stand either side of the former entrance to Coombe Warren, built in 1870 for Bertram Wodehouse Currie MP and demolished in 1926. Lodge, Coombe Lane
George Devey designed a large house, Coombe Warren, here in c1864 and all that remains is the lodge and wall. With Dutch-style shaped gables and prominent moulded chimneystacks. The wall is rubble below and brick above with diapering. Grade II listed. Devey liked to draw from local vernacular tradition when designing buildings. He built up an extensive country house practice.

Coombe Warren Lodge
Facing a busy junction on the A238, this "picturesque composition in red brick with stone window dressings" http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-203102-coombe-warren-lodge-with-garden-walls-to probably dates from the 1870s and was the lodge to the vanished Coombe Warren House. On the left is Coombe Hill Road.
