Horse ride near Epsom Racecourse
One of the many horse rides on Epsom Downs and Walton Downs, this one lies just south of the racecourse and close to the houses of Rosebery Road. The latter are just to the left beyond the trees.

All-weather gallop near Langley Vale
At a crossing-point nearby, a sign warns that between 6am and 12 noon the track is used by race-horses in training - and that they will be moving at speed.
Geograph's local man-in-the-know is Hugh Craddock, and without the help of his contributions I couldn't have identified the sandy track (with guide-rails) as an 'all-weather gallop'. Apparently the surface material is 'fibresand' - which I imagine will need frequent topping up.
Houses in Rosebery Road lie just down the slope to the left.

Grosvenor Road, Langley Vale

There are three streets here built along a downland valley, and the road comes to a dead-end just behind the camera. Epsom race-course is a few minutes' walk away.
Incidentally - the grey-painted house on the left (with verandah) is plainly modern, but weather-boarded - perhaps following some Antipodean example.
