I'm not an expert, but these are probably mediterranean pines (quite a quick growing variety), planted as a shelter belt for the big house.

Glasgow, Paisley, Kilmarnock and Ayr Railway
The railway between Ayr and Troon. Nature has helped Network Rail repel trespassers with thorny undergrowth. I consulted aerial photographs, and the cycle path did not appear, suggesting it is of recent construction.

Sandhill House
Built by the Duke of Portland in 1890 as a dower house, which the Collins concise dictionary says, is a house for the use of a widow, often on her deceased husband’s estate. Sandhill House is set in 9 acres of grounds, with sea views over the Royal Troon golf course. Now it is a very nice B&B.
