Local Authority Housing
An area of council housing adjacent to the junction of the B743 to Muirkirk with the B713 to Catrine over the Glenlogan road bridge. The photograph was taken from a new path network, which here skirts along the edge of the steep slope behind Sorn village and which links up with other paths giving public access to walks through some of the surrounding estate lands.

Sorn New Bridge, Sorn
Not really new, Sorn New Bridge was built in 1871 replacing a ford at Coalford. The attractive 2 arch bridge carries the B713 from Sorn to Catrine across the River Ayr. It is a Category B listed building. https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/200347562-sorn-new-bridge-sorn#.WZx9ojGWw5s

Junction, Sorn
There is a bridge over the Ayr here as well as a cafe. However as I was not a local and that they close at 15:00 they declined to serve me at all at 14:50. Pointing out the time and that others were being served provoked a pretty startling reaction - cornered!
The shop's fine btw.
