Erstwhile path to the walled garden
Characteristic of an estate with a history trying to survive in today's financial climate. Probably the entrance is a listed structure that must be preserved; no gate hangs from the supports and moss covers the expensive stonework. Its twin to the north of the garden still boasts gates Image

Estate road through the Brahan Estate
All the time pheasants were being shot at in the woods and fields to the west of the road, much to the consternation of our collie. A gamekeeper of the Brahan Estate had advised me not to head west along the Conon for fear of ruining the shoot! Instead I had headed east to Dunglass Island. I believe the road is a public road and cars can use it to access The Dell - a Camping and Caravan Club site.

Brahan Estate cottage at the entrance to the walled garden
Just like a film set for a period drama. I can imagine this house being built in the film studio for inside shooting. A real step back to the past finding the cottage at the wall of the estate walled garden.

Last noticed in 2012 this cottage looked perfectly at home in the estate. Now it has had a real makeover. See Image
