All the time pheasants were being shot at in the woods and fields to the west of the road, much to the consternation of our collie. A gamekeeper of the Brahan Estate had advised me not to head west along the Conon for fear of ruining the shoot! Instead I had headed east to Dunglass Island. I believe the road is a public road and cars can use it to access The Dell - a Camping and Caravan Club site.
