This part of the Business park is currently being developed.
The white building (centre) is the only business currently trading in this part of the development, but the blue-edged building is nearing completion, and ground work is under way on other parts of the site.

Rembrand Timber, Portee
This building has stood empty for many months, but opened last week as a branch of Rembrand Timber - which claims to be Scotland's largest independent timber and building materials supplier. As Skye already has two branches of Jewsons builders merchants as well as a Howden's joinery, an industrial supplies business and two large family run hardware stores, there seems to be a bit of over-supply to the building trade, as the population of Skye is fewer than 10,000 people.

Retail warehouses in Portree
When this building was built, it was first occupied by West Coast Marine (see John Allan's photograph - http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/719533 ). The building stands at the back of Portree's business park in Broom Place. Today, plumbers merchants, William Wilson occupy one end of the building, and an independent business called Skye Finishing Touches has recently been established in the part formerly occupied by West Coast Marine. Finishing Touches sells hardware and DIY items, stoves, household items and a range of clothing.
