This building has stood empty for many months, but opened last week as a branch of Rembrand Timber - which claims to be Scotland's largest independent timber and building materials supplier. As Skye already has two branches of Jewsons builders merchants as well as a Howden's joinery, an industrial supplies business and two large family run hardware stores, there seems to be a bit of over-supply to the building trade, as the population of Skye is fewer than 10,000 people.
