Harport Cottages, Carbost
A row of houses backing onto Loch Harport in Carbost.
The older ones, furthest from camera, almost face the Talisker distillery, and were built to house distillery workers. They are now privately owned.

Talisker Whisky Distillery, Carbost
With visitor car park deserted on New Year's Day. The product from this rather unattractive building was probably responsible for a few headaches this morning. The Visitor Centre at the distillery is currently being extended and refurbished, and should be open in time for the 2013 summer season.
Although this picture was taken very shortly after mid-day, the shadow on the wall, centrally, shows how low in the sky the sun is at this time of year at this northerly latitude.

Near Carbost
We had come here to Carbost to visit the Oyster Shed. It literally is a shed with outside a trailer that serves fresh seafood, hot and cold. You eat in a lean-to with great view over Skye. The shed sells fresh seafood caught or harvested locally and vegetables in season, again mainly local.
The other thing of note is the Talisker Whisky distillery.
