Art Deco Inverness High School, Montague Row, Inverness
Opened in 1937, the present building is a magnificent example of Art Deco architecture and is naturally listed. http://www.inverness.highland.sch.uk/ The architects were George Reid and James Smith Forbes of the Reid & Forbes practice (see http://www.codexgeo.co.uk/dsa/building_full.php?id=M019986 ) In early June 2008 the building received an almost £30,000 paint job in preparation for the visit of Prince Charles and Camilla, hopefully restoring the building to a gleaming white finish. http://www.highland-news.co.uk/news/fullstory.php/aid/3809/School_is_made_fit_for_a_Prince.html

Inverness High School
What a splendid building to receive an education in. I had to stand quite some distance back from the building which overlooks the sports ground to capture the whole building. It dates from 1931 and has Category B listed status. https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/200379863-off-montague-row-inverness-high-school-inverness The original school building, made from corrugated iron still stands within the school grounds Image]

A peep in through the entrance from Montague Row. The school has a roll of about 410 pupils. It moved to this site in 1937, though the gates at this entrance commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.
