Shackleton Park, Smithton
A small grassy area amongst the housing estates.
As it says on the stone:
This park is named in memory of the Shackleton Bomber of 120 Sqn Coastal Command that crash landed near this site on 10th January 1964. It commemorates the heroism and skill that saved both the community and crew from disaster.

This building stands at the northern end of Smithton Road.
There is no sign to give a clue as to its function, but I suspect it is a community hall.

Flood storage basin, Smithton
Part of the Smithton and Culloden Flood Protection Scheme. Water flows down the open channel on the right. In the event of a flood, it can back up into the park.

Forestry Commission offices, Smithton
This is the Inverness, Ross and Skye District Office of the Forestry Commission, Scotland.
To quote from a Forestry Commission press release - "The Smithton office, designed by Inverness based HRI Architects, has already won an Inverness Civic Trust Award in 2007, the Scottish Architects Award 2007 and the RICS Scotland Sustainability Award 2008. It also won royal approval when HRH Prince Charles visited earlier this year."

St Columba's, Culloden
The church stands on the junction of Murray Road and Tower Road.
An inaugural mass was held at the new church on 24th October 2008.
