Viewhill Gate, Inverness
Viewhill Gate, at the corner of Mitchell's Lane and Old Edinburgh Road. Through the archway is the gable of "Braehead", the former home of Pierre Delavault who was the Art Master at Inverness Royal Academy between 1890 and 1907.

Inverness Prison
Built in 1902, this prison was never provided with an ornate entrance such as those which graced many Victorian prisons. The very plain entrance is down the lane to the left, but must be approached from the opposite direction.

BBC Scotland Offices and Studios
Located at number 7 Culduthel Road at the junction with Mayfield Road, this is the offices and radio broadcasting studios for BBC Scotland (Highlands and Islands) and BBC Alba, Radio nan Gàidheal.

Inverness Youth Hostel (former)
Distinguished building on corner of Old Edinburgh Road and Culduthel Road, was in early 80s a youth hostel. Views from here overlooking the river are fantastic.

Viewhill Gate

Fraser Darling House, Culduthel Road
Located at the junction with Mayfield Road, the substantial sandstone-built house has most recently been used as office accommodation for Scottish Natural Heritage. The house is Category C Listed. The sign shows it to be currently for sale, and detailed planning permission exists for conversion of the building into six self-contained apartments.
